i tell you what, i was not an anime girly like, 2yrs ago. i would have put my foot down if someone recommended it to me. i made an exception for one single show one time and now people are like "hey check out the monster cooking show!" and now we are here. i dont have loads to say about this, i just want to ramble about it a little because the only person i can do that to has already seen it and then watched it with me lol
DUNGEON MESHI was so much fun!!! i'm typically not really a fantasy person, but the overall concept of the dungeon being like playing a dnd game really interested me. i like the idea of no permadeath in the dungeon! i binged this with my friend who had watched it as it was airing, and i really loved it! it's so charming and fun, very silly with some suddenly insane lore drops and then back to being silly again, very pretty visually as well. i love how in depth the worldbuilding goes, how much thought has been put into these otherwise well-known and generic monsters and their biology, and exactly how they would be edible. i think we finished this in about two days, and i immediately went to start reading the manga because it's all available online! i'm only a little ways into it as of writing this, but so far it's pretty much line for line to the show, which is so good.
i'm a very simple person: i love good sibling relationships, i love found family, i love biology, and i love monsters. we got it all right here babeyyy, this show was so much fun and i cannot wait for s2!! i'm really curious to see where this narrative is going (though i do imagine i'll finsih the manga long before s2 is out). i will finish off my thoughts here after the next season has aired!
