i'm replaying this once again because it's easily one of my favourite things to revisit when i kind of just want to be miserable, yknow? & i'm on a quest to 100% a bunch of my games on steam.
this is a beautiful psychological horror rpg disguised as a cutesy little adventure game. it is a deeply touching story about trauma and grief, very much an all time favourite of mine. i love media that's about childhood friends going through The Horrors and this game has that in more than one way, AND has a beautiful soundtrack that is my go-to background noise (my fav track is easily remember to be patient, not only because it's beautiful but because i adore the area it plays in).
i think this game really speaks to me because it gives me a lot of nostalgia for my own childhood; my childhood best friends and i were a group of four and were so inseperable that any time one of us showed up anywhere without the rest in tow, the first thing people would do is ask "where's the rest of you?". unfortunately something happened, disrupted our lives, and we all drifted apart and scattered. it has been over a decade since i spoke to any of them. it was simpler and easier and nothing in your life will ever be like the bonds you had when you were 12, and this is one of my favourite themes in the game - though it is mostly about facing your mistakes head on and enduring consequences.

a beloved little indie rpg about war and navigating conflict, which i hold dearly to my heart. LGD is a game i have been following since it's first chapter early access release in 2019! i have loved watching this game grow over the years into it's now final and completed version. the art is beautiful, the world and characters are crafted so lovingly. you get choices, you get different endings. it's just a delight from start to finish, i cannot recommend it enough. this is the first time i've picked it up since the final version was released in 2023, i just wanted to go through and clean up any achievements i missed :)

this is possibly one of the most iconic early 2010's rpgmaker horror games, and something i played around it's release! i love this game dearly, it's a horror rpg following a young girl who gets stuck in a cursed art gallery. it was recently revamped and re-released on steam with updated graphics and a mechanics overhaul, so i revisited it and streamed it to some friends. still a wonderful game, i really enjoyed the new content and the tweaks that were added. this was such a staple game of my childhood, it's hard not to love it, but i certainly do recommend it to anyone looking for a quick little spooky puzzle game

i feel like if you've been on the internet for some amount of time, you probably don't need another person yapping in your ear about how fnv is one of the best rpgs of all time and absolutely blows any other fallout game out of the water. but i'm gonna do it anyway.
this is not my first time playing fnv, but it is my first time in a while doing so. i think i probably last picked this up in 2015, somewhere around the end of high school, i think i re-played it in anticipation of fallout 4's release. i am definitely fo4's biggest defender and i don't think it deserves the hate it gets, but i cannot disagree that fnv is one of the most interesting and involved games out there, and 4 was a disappointment in comparison to new vegas. the story is fun, the worldbuilding is endless, there are a thousand choices you can make that really feel like they mean something. combat isn't the go-to and there are some situations you simply can't shoot your way out of. the perks and levelling system is a lot of fun, your build will decide what dialogue options you can chose and it does directly impact how the game's world reacts to you. most importantly, the player character, courier six, is a completely blank slate. there is no backstory to the courier, you are totally free to do whatever the hell you want without having to worry about a backstory narrative that the game is trying to shoehorn in (this, i believe, was fo4's biggest flaw).
is the game janky, unstable, and prone to crashing? yes absolutely. is my favourite companion voiced by a man who is now a blatant trump supporter and conspiracy theorist nutcase? yes, unfortunately. it is a 15 year old game and it isn't without it's flaws, but all that means is there's been 15 years of community to work out these flaws and make unofficial patches that make the game run smoothly today. if you've ever eyed it up but been hesitant due to it's age or endearingly ugly graphics, i strongly urge you to give it a go regardless. this is easily one of my favourite games of all time, i have loved it since i was 13 and get just as much enjoyment out of playing it now as i did over a decade ago <3

this is a wonderful little 2d pixel rpg about taking your first car on a cross-country roadtrip to a festival! there's multiple endings, there's charming characters and hitchhikers to pick up along the way that give you buffs or boons. buy stuff to help you on the road, upgrade and customise your car, get sidetracked and help people and explore towns. very oregon trail in terms of gameplay but with a little more control over how things go. this game is great! i enjoyed it a lot, and will certainly be replaying until i get all those endings.

oh this had me hooked instantly. played this at the request of a friend. this is a fast paced microgame-focused game about playing a series of minigames in your opponent's mind. this is a free demo for an upcoming game, you can and should check it out on steam! it only takes about 30min to get through and is a fantastic introduction. the music is banging, the first level is so much fun. i cannot wait for the full game!!!

GOD. this game was so good. it took me about 4hrs to fully complete - 2 playthroughs; an initial one and a secondary one to get achievements. i really loved it, it's gonna stick with me for a while, i think. it's a visual delight for anyone who loves fleshy gunky horror, thematically fantastic with incredible parallels drawn between characters and their story. it's just so brutal, it really wormed its way into my head and it will not be leaving any time soon. i LOVE a game that leaves me feeling miserable and awful! it's been popping up in my steam queue for so long and i finally dug into it after a friend recommended it. great game, thoroughly enjoyed.

jesus christ. i am in agony. i have been following this series since 2013 and have adored every single game so so much and i think i've always known how it was going to end, but it didn't hurt any less! i think this was a perfect ending to this series, it wraps things up nicely and hurts so deeply and these stupid doctors will never ever leave my brain. this series is short and such a gut punch in every single game, they're funny and charming and devastating and i truly cannot recommend them enough.
