this is the wolsten park insane asylum, what used to be a very notorious asylum in it's heyday. it opened in 1865 and has a long history of patient abuse and mistreatment, and wasn't actually closed down until 2001. it is a heritage listed building, so it can't be torn down, though it has been through a fire of some capacity. people say that it was burnt down on purpose to keep the urbex crowd out, since the top floor is inaccessable this way - however people have now just placed down planks into a precarious bridge across the burnt gaps, so it's objectively more dangerous now. and a lot more fun to explore! it's nothing super crazy, since it's a burnt shell of it's former self, but it's very difficult to get into as there are always cops crawling around the area and there is another functional psychiactric hospital like 100m across the road from it.
